Bob Edison will give a presentation on flying around Denali at the Alaska Aviation Museum.

At at our March 2019 chapter meeting, Bob Edison gave a great presentation about flying near the mountain above Denali National Park. The National Park Service actually has some pretty good information. So we will point you the original stuff where you might be able to download the reporting points already formatted to import into your GPS system.

On Monday, May 6th 2019 from 6:30 PM - 9 PM, our chapter president, Bernie Willis hosted a Stewart Systems Seminar at his hangar in Wasilla.

There was a good turn out of 18 people.

EAA Chapter 42, the Alaska Airmen Association, Zenith Aircraft and thousands of people who went to the Great Alaska Aviation Gathering in May of 2019 are all glad that Sam Warner was able to roll his Zenith 750 into the FexEx hangar before most of the other planes on display.

Our June monthly meeting is moved to Saturday as Bernie will host a fly-in at his farm. Bernie's home has a nice airstrip, so we encourage members to fly in. He has a hangar with several planes and projects in it - all of this situated on a beautiful lake.
Time: 10 am - 8 pm. Bernie asks that you please RSVP to him so he can plan on how many will be coming and how much food to have.

From the Parks Highway Take Sylvan Rd. south at the intersection with Pittman Rd. (which goes north).
Fly-in information: Bernie's airstrip is "AK45", which depicts on ForeFlight but not on the sectional. The strip is 06-24, 2,200' x 50' turf. This is only 2 miles SW of Wasilla (PAWS), so watch for traffic in their pattern. If your airplane would require landing at Wasilla, call Bernie at: (907) 301-2666 and he will have someone pick you up there.

I am saddened to report that Scott Christy and two others were fatally injured in his airplane yesterday near Moose Pass and another passenger was critically injured. Scott was the President of the Lake Hood Pilots Association.
